Unique Hocking Hills Fall Color

The very dry conditions that have persisted throughout Hocking Hills since this Summer have definitely taken a toll on the fall color in the area.  I visited Conkle’s Hollow State Nature Preserve today and through some serious persistence managed to find this unique faded fern amongst the forrest floor.  The bleached out color really caught my eye!  I know it’s not your typical fall color but finding original and different items like this is what drives my photography.  Thanks again for viewing!   – Vince

Over the Back Fence Cover Photograph

I received an email a few weeks ago from the Art Director at Over the Back Fence Magazine (Produced by Ohio Magazine) inquiring about the possibility of using one of my images for their upcoming September/October 2010 edition.  Needless to say I was very honored when she decided to use my image of Conkle’s Hollow in the Hocking Hills for the cover.  Please be sure to check out this issue featuring Autumn Celebrations – 125 Festivals and Events.   - Over the Back FenceI am very thankful for the ongoing support I’ve received from family, friends, and fellow photographers.  Thanks so much for the encouragement and thanks again for viewing my photos!   – Vince

Hocking Hills Winter

I decided to take a small break from all the wedding and portrait work and this is what I came up with from January.  Hocking Hills is usually known for its beautiful fall color, and spring waterfalls, but I’ve found the winter landscape to be a very unique experience that I’ve come to love!   This image of Old Man’s Cave Upper Falls at Hocking Hills State Park shows the ice forms that develop when the chill of winter is in the air.   This photo was taken with a Nikon D700 using a tripod to ensure sharp focus.   Additional information about the Hocking Hills Region can be found at the Hocking Hills Tourism Association – www.1800Hocking.com My favorite place to stay is The Inn and Spa at Cedar Falls – www.InnatCedarFalls.com
